As a somatic psychotherapist I hold space for you to rest attention on your body, soothe the nervous system, and connect authentically with yourself. There is nothing more empowering than attuning with yourself and accessing your own wisdom and strength to make lasting change. A body-centered approach to therapy can help you go deeper with the work as it goes beyond traditional talk therapy. Interventions target non-verbal, subconscious material and allows you to find positive new ways of being in relationship with yourself, others, and the world around you.
With attachment psychology I help you deepen your understanding of how the past influences present. For example, unhelpful patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behavior in the present often developed as coping mechanisms for early relational wounds, usually with caregivers. And while these patterns were necessary to survive distress at a young age, they can be self-defeating as adults and destructive to intimate relationships. Along with ego state therapy I can help you not only discover these old habits, but also learn strategies for releasing them and to move forward in life as the integrated, compassionate, and wise adult that you truly are.
